About Your Guide
Tobi Johnson, MA, CVA
Tobi Johnson is an internationally-known expert, trainer, and strategic advisor in volunteer engagement. She is known for her modern thought leadership, highly practical evidence-based strategies, and innovative, “big hat” thinking around engaging, supporting, and acknowledging the work of volunteers.
She has over 15 years boots-on-the-ground experience working in private charities, public sector organizations, and grassroots causes . Over the past 16 years, she has trained thousands to date on strategic, high-impact volunteer management practices. She is host of the popular Volunteer Nation Podcast where she and her guests share practical tips on how to mobilize volunteers and is currently at work on a book for volunteers who lead to be released in 2026.
